20 September 2024
The Collège des Parcs, a historic landmark building in Neuchâtel, is currently undergoing a major renovation and extension project. Commissioned by the City of Neuchâtel, the aim of the project is to breathe new life into the building while improving its energy efficiency.
A respectful, modern approach
To preserve the building’s unique architectural identity, the work is being carried out with particular attention to preserving its exterior and interior appearance. This approach combines respect for the building’s heritage with modernisation of the infrastructure to meet current safety and energy performance standards.
Infrastructure redesigned for the future
Major changes to the site include :
- Replacing the old gymnastics hall with a new school building.
- The creation of two new sports halls under the school’s south courtyard, optimising the space available for pupils and sporting activities.
The works, which began in summer 2022, will continue until 2025. This transformation will provide students, teachers and future users with a high-quality, modern and sustainable environment, while honouring the rich past of this historic building.
